Across three albums and a growing catalogue of productions for other artists, Walt Daley’s work in music reflects the same multidisciplinary approach that defines his wider creative career.
His journey began with electronic music before developing through formal study at Dubspot in New York and a First-Class degree in Audio Production from BIMM Manchester, graduating with honours. Working with singer-songwriters, recording studios and companies including BMG broadened his practice across songwriting, arrangement, vocal production and mix engineering. His sound gradually expanded into hip-hop, R&B and soul, later including the co-production and mixing of Hendo Soul’s debut album, Lavender.
Under the stage name Tomii Rose, his artist albums These Things Happen (2024) and So That’s the Way It Goes (2026) bring together guest performers from across the United States and United Kingdom through expansive, genre-blending records. Between them, Don’t Move (2026) presents a different side of his catalogue: a purely electronic body of work spanning contemporary house, psy-trance and big-room EDM.
This progression ultimately led to the founding of Mad Flavour Creative in Los Angeles in 2024, providing a home for Walt’s work as a producer and creative partner. Through MFC, he develops music for independent artists across hip-hop, R&B, soul and other genre-blending spaces.
So That’s the Way It Goes is Walt Daley’s second artist album: a collaborative record built at the meeting point of several musical generations. Drawing from the warmth, musicianship and rich arrangements of 1970s soul, it brings those foundations into conversation with contemporary neo-soul, hip-hop and the energy of 1990s dance music.
Featuring artists from across the United States, the album moves between distinct voices and influences while remaining grounded in a cohesive production style. Rather than recreating the past, So That’s the Way It Goes draws from it - combining nostalgia with contemporary songwriting, rhythm and sound to create an album that feels familiar, expressive and unmistakably current.
The album was created during a period of profound personal and professional change at the end of Walt’s six-year chapter in Los Angeles. Following a series of setbacks and the breakdown of an important relationship, he retreated to the solitude of Wonder Valley, California, where he returned to the music that had shaped him - 1970s soul, Motown, Marvin Gaye, 2000s R&B and classic 1990s house.
Written over three and a half weeks in the desert, So That’s the Way It Goes became both a reflection on and a farewell to Los Angeles: capturing its beauty and hardship, the aftermath of heartbreak, his friendships, the wider tensions of contemporary America, and the quiet process of rebuilding.
Walt’s debut studio album, These Things Happen, was produced in Los Angeles alongside the founding of Mad Flavour Creative in 2024.
Featuring artists from across the United States and United Kingdom, the record introduced Walt as a producer unbound by a single sound, moving between South American-inspired house, acoustic singer-songwriter music, hip-hop, R&B and soul.
At its heart, the album is a celebration of life, love, friendship and the creative relationships that shaped that period. Beneath its warmth and variety, however, sit more personal reflections on Walt’s lifestyle and choices - the regrets he carried, the relationships that failed, and the lessons found in accepting that sometimes...
These Things Happen.
Walt’s third album, Don’t Move, is an entirely electronic collection spanning house, psy-trance and big-room EDM. Developed from records produced at different stages of his career since 2016, the album returns to the music that first inspired him to become a producer.
That journey began when Walt was shown the Tomorrowland 2012 Aftermovie, whose scale, energy and sense of possibility introduced him to the world of electronic music production.
Although his work later expanded into hip-hop, R&B and, more recently, 1970s soul-inspired production, EDM has remained a constant part of his creative identity. Don’t Move brings that decade-long relationship together in one body of work.
This collection brings together individual hip-hop and R&B singles produced for other artists through Mad Flavour Creative. Created through relationships developed with performers and songwriters from the United Kingdom, New York City, Kansas City, Los Angeles and Miami, each record began as its own collaboration rather than part of a single album concept.
Walt adapted the production around each artist’s voice, writing style and creative identity, allowing every relationship to produce something distinct. Moving between beat-driven hip-hop, melodic R&B, soul-influenced production and records that blur the boundaries between them.
This Is Manchester is a tribute to the city, its people and the character that survives beneath its famously grey skies.
Drawing inspiration from Manchester’s musical lineage - from the atmosphere of Joy Division and the melodic melancholy of The Smiths to the anthemic spirit of Oasis - the record celebrates a place whose beauty is found as much in its resilience and community as in its streets and skyline.
At its heart, the song is also a celebration of football and the role it plays within Manchester’s identity, culture and sense of belonging. The result is both a love letter to the city and an understated football anthem for the people who carry Manchester with them.
